A fixture on the South Florida music and poetry scene for years, John Camacho brings his friends together for a farewell concert at the Luna Star Café (775 NE 125th St, North Miami, FL 33161) on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 8 p.m. Camacho’s resume as poet and musician is considerable, beginning with local heroes The Goods, the band he formed and co-fronted with brother Jim Camacho from 1989-1999, through the idiosyncratic human juke box and cult faves Mongo from early 2000s – 2011, to his current Christian band, Messiah Has Come. John has been writing and performing his poetic and powerful pop rock songs with sometimes poignant, sometimes comical lyrics, with high-energy virtuosity for the better part of two decades.

Camacho is an award-winning poet whose work has been published in literary magazines throughout the U.S. and Europe. John is relocating to North Carolina in pursuit of higher education, and he’s asked some special friends to help him say sayonara in style, including brother Jim, former bandmates in The Goods and Mongo and more.
